Again, I thoroughly enjoyed my Shearings holiday to the Dordogne. Our driver was on his own and did a wonderful job organising our excursions, hotels and sorting out any problems. He certainly deserves my thanks. I saw some pretty, charming old places, my favourite being Sarlat.Although I have given the holiday 5 stars I must mention our last meal at the Hotel de Bordeaux in Bergerac. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful and the meals very good apart from our last meal served on the Friday night. The pieces of beef were inedible, tough and grisly. In fact I couldnt even cut the meat with my knife. Sadly, most of my fellow travellers experienced the same. That was the only fault I can report. Lovely holiday otherwise. Thank you.

This tour was very good with some good trips. However, Shearings seem to have a shortgage of drivers and sub the driving out to Ridleys who are obviously a good company. Our two drivers Carlos and Jordan were lovely guys and the best drivers, very careful smooth driving. Hotel de Bordeaux in Bergerac where we stayed for 6 nights was sufficient with clean rooms and lovely staff and owners. However the evening meals brought in from another source are not great. The hotel's own breakfasts are excellent with everything you could wish for. Why don't Shearings market this holiday as Bed and Breakfast and bring the price down slightly. There are plenty of lovely restaurants a short walk away in the town.

The drivers had never been to France before and knew nothing about where we were going or where to find anything. They did not help the disabled. The breakfasts at the hotels was good but the evening means poor some courses inedible. At the Ibis Hotel on the way home there was a problem with door locks if the visitors left their room they were locked out.
