Normally I would give Shearings 5 stars, but this recent holiday was not the best I've been on. The actual content of the holiday, trips out, hotel, food, cleanliness etc were very good, as I have come to expect. However, there were hold ups with the coach, missing luggage, air condition unit failures and above all no porterage at the hotel. I go on these coach trips so that I don't have to worry about carrying my luggage, but there were no staff at the hotel to assist and many of the passengers were elderly or had walking difficulties. Most of us had to manage our own cases, and the same applied to going home. The coach was changed right at the end, to an even worse one, cramped, uncomfortable seats, (some passengers had to have taxis to take them home) no foot rests and no air conditioning! Not the drivers fault, he tried to do everything possible to ensure we had a good holiday - I can only blame Shearings Management. As I say, the actual holiday was excellent and I hope this is simply a hiccough as I do have further holidays booked.

The trip was good. We had a very good driver, but he was not a good communicator! Consequently some folk didn't get times and places right. This caused some worry and aggravation amongst the passengers. The hotel was excellent and also the food, especially the evening meal choices. I have no photos.

I felt for the driver. He was a lovely man who was made to do the tour when he was expecting the week off. Anyhow, he was friendly and helpful. The holiday itself was lovely. The cream tea cruise was the highlight of the trip. It was charming and Poole harbour has much to offer. The hotel is probably the best I have ever stayed in with Shearings. They dealt with my coeliac disease and veganism without batting an eye. It is a lovely hotel with a swimming pool which customers can use all day. All in all a really great week. One of the best we have been on.
