From bustling market towns to spectacular coastal scenery, there’s something for everyone on this fully escorted coach tour to the west of Ireland! Enjoy the stunning natural setting of the Dingle Peninsula, where you will see long sandy beaches, steep cliffs and the amazing dominating mountain range. Experience breathtaking views from the Cliffs of Moher and of the beautiful beaches of Galway. We spend time in the pretty village of Adare, the old medieval capital of Kilkenny, and the famous town of Killarney, where you have the option to join a jaunting car ride! Finally, we head east to Dublin, where you can join an optional sightseeing tour of the capital’s most famous sights, before you head home with wonderful memories of your Irish adventure.

Regional departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to Holyhead for the ferry to Ireland, and onward to our overnight hotel.

Enjoy a morning at leisure exploring the town of Kilkenny, located on the banks of the River Nore. Kilkenny was once the medieval capital of Ireland and is now home to some interesting castle ruins and landmarks.

After free time to explore, we head into Co. Tipperary and to the town of Cashel where we pause for lunch. From here, we continue through Co. Cork and into Kerry to the famous town of Killarney. Here, there will be the opportunity to join an optional jaunting car ride as the Tangney family welcome you on board their pony and trap rides. This family business has been in operation for over 220 years!

Later this afternoon, we continue to either Tralee or Killarney and to our hotel for a two-night stay.

Killarney

Today we explore Tralee, the gateway to the Dingle Peninsula, on our included excursion. We begin with a scenic drive around the peninsula.

The area has provided a backdrop to many films, including the 70s film ‘Ryan’s Daughter’. Each turn offers spectacular views of long, sandy beaches, breathtaking steep cliffs, and hidden bays. The peninsula is dominated by the range of mountains that form its spine, running from the Slieve Mish to Mount Brandon, Ireland’s second highest peak.

This afternoon, we arrive in Dingle where you will have free time to explore this quaint town.

We leave our hotel today and make our way north to the Galway or Clare area for an overnight stay. En route we pause at Adare, often described as Ireland’s prettiest village. With its thatched cottages, art and craft shops and its fashion boutiques, it’s easy to see why it has gained this reputation.

From Adare, we head to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher in County Clare (weather permitting). We include entrance to the excellent Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience. Be sure to take your camera as the views from the 700-feet high cliffs are simply breathtaking.

We continue across County Clare and the rocky landscape of the legendary Burren to our hotel.

We start the day with a short visit to Galway, ‘City of Tribes’. Discover the beautiful beaches, long winding promenade, cobbled streets and colourful shop façades.

We then head east to Dublin where our optional sightseeing tour will introduce you to this fascinating city. Our informative guide will show you the main sights such as the Trinity College, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, The National Art Gallery and the Four Courts. There will then be free time for you to enjoy all Dublin has to offer. Perhaps pay a visit to the Guinness Storehouse and pay homage to Dublin’s most famous drink (entrance not included), or simply sit back, relax and enjoy a panoramic view of Dublin from its glassed Gravity Bar.

We then continue to our overnight hotel on the outskirts of the city.

You will stay for one night at a minimum 3-star hotel in Dublin. You will then stay for two nights at the 3-star Benners Hotel in Tralee or the Heights Hotel in Killarney. You will stay for one night in County Clare or County Galway. Your overnight stay will be on the outskirts of the Dublin area in a city-style hotel.

The Heights Hotel

The privately run and owned Heights Hotel Killarney overlooks the Flesk Valley and Torc and Mangerton mountains. Rooms are tastefully decorated all equipped with TV, Hairdryers plus Tea & Coffee Making Facilities. There is a traditionally furnished bar and lounge area plus restaurant.
