Known as a global home of sailing and is steeped in maritime history. Stroll along the High Street, Parade and Esplanade for wonderful views of the bustling harbour and across The Solent. Find out about the boating history of Cowes by visiting Cowes Maritime Museum in the middle of the town, while the Sir Max Aitken Museum provides another fascinating glimpse into the town’s story. Cowes is a haven for foodies, with numerous quality pubs, restaurants and cafes mingled in with shops.

Why not take a stroll along the pretty promenade in Sandown? You’ll find deckchairs, beach huts and the delightful Victorian pier which dates back to 1879. Sandown has a great selection of attractions, an award-winning beach and the popular Dinosaur Isle (entry not included) where you can learn more about the fascinating geology and magnificent fossils to be found on the island.
You may prefer to explore Shanklin's Old Village with pretty thatched cottages housing tea rooms and gift shops.
Enjoy a day at leisure or join our optional excursion to visit bustling Newport, the island's capital. Newport offers plenty of things to do and is a great place for shopping with a mix of high street stores and independent shops across the town's two main Georgian squares. There are regular markets in St Thomas Square and a wonderful Farmers Market (check locally) offering local delicacies including honey, garlic and traditional fudge.
