I came on a Shearings coach tour for the first time with my fifteen year old daughter and we both found it really enjoyable. Our room at the New Southlands Hotel was well equipped with what we needed, the staff were attentive, efficient and offered lovely breakfast. I chose the tour because it included the steam railway trip which was delightful- a lasting memory. Our driver/guide Gary offered plenty of information during the journey about the tour excursions and places of interest. He also communicated with precision, any updated travel details on the roads for us. I would definitely be happy to go on a tour again, as I felt safe and looked after for the whole duration of the journey.

Good value tour overall. New Southlands Hotel rather tired but reasonably comfortable. Our bedroom suffered from external noise from on-site machine of some kind, operating 24/7. Food was good & restaurant well staffed. Excursions well organised but would have preferred the steam train excursion to run all the way to Whitby & not terminate early. Feeder service from our pick-up point was reasonably convenient but a long journey to transit terminal at Rugby for a coach change. This was of course repeated on the return leg - made for a long day in each direction.

The steam railway was great and Scarborough and Whitby are lovely. All in all a lovely break.
