The presents are unwrapped and the turkey has been eaten, but that doesn’t mean the festive spirit doesn’t live on! Enjoy the period in between Christmas and New Year, known as Twixmas in the Lake District, famous for its stunning scenery, early 19th century poets, and for being the most visited National Park in the UK.

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to Windermere and our hotel for three nights.
Today we visit the picturesque market town of Keswick. Overlooked by the dramatic Skiddaw range in the north and the expansive Derwentwater in the south the town enjoys an idyllic location in the north of the Lake District. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the town before continuing to the pretty village of Grasmere, known for being the home of William Wordsworth. Explore the village where you can admire the spectacular surrounding fells, visit Wordsworth’s grave, or maybe even buy some of the legendary Grasmere gingerbread.
Relax in Windermere, or join our optional excursion to the market town of Kendal, home to the famous mint cake! An historic market town situated in the valley in the banks of the River Kent, Kendal is a lovely town to explore with its pedestrianised centre, unusual network of lanes (or Yards), 13th century castle and surrounding magnificent scenery.
The optional excursions will be available to book during your tour.
